Violence on the streets has been on the rising side and nobody is safe from the attacks. However, for women the conditions are much worse because they are an easier target not only on streets but pretty much anywhere. That is why it is essential for women to make themselves stronger and prepared for such situations. Assault conditions do not let you think and plan your moves. It is only your training that makes you ready for any undesired physical attack scenarios. Here are some basic self-defense moves that every women should practice.
1-Open Palm Strike
Open palm strike is an effective move to neutralize the attacker for several minutes and it provides you ample time to escape from the situation. Open palm strike can be executed when your attacker is just in front and facing you. Use the distance to make a momentum and strike the nose or the throat with the heel of the open palm. The point to remember is to exert your full power to make it a forceful blow.
Krav Maga self-defense training teaches the quickest way out of the dangerous situations and the direct kick into the groin of the attacker is the fastest way out of assault situations for women. The groin kick effectively paralyzes the attacker and leaves you enough room to run away from him. To execute this kick step back and lift your dominant leg with full force and kick with the lower part of your shin or your foot in the groin. However, if you do not have much space to kick with your leg then hitting the groin with your knee is another option.
Elbow strike is effective from the close range. If your attacker is in front of you and very close then bend your arm and strike with full force. You can easily target nose, chin and throat. You can loosen the grip of your assaulter with this move.
4-Variant Elbow Strike
You can also use the elbow strike if someone attacks you from behind. Raise your elbow to shoulder length and then strike as hard as you can. You can target the throat, chin or nose.
5-Getting Lose from the Bear Hug
If the attacker tightens you in a bear hug then try to sit down that will make you shift all your weight downwards and loosening the grip of the assailant. Once down just go haywire and strike the legs with your elbows and get rid of the attacker grab. Then get behind the attacker and strike or kick the attacker. This way the assailant will lose his balance and fall on his face allowing you to run.
6-Using Keys to Attack
Keys can easily be converted into a weapon to hurt your attacker. Holding the car key between your fingers keeping the sharp side outwards can be used to punch into the eyes, throat or under the jaw of the attacker.
