Krav Maga is not a sport and its primary purpose is to deal with real life combat situations where ones safety is threatened and the attacker initiates the attack. Krav Maga equips one with self-defense tactics.

Krav Maga Basic Principles
Krav Maga has some basic principles:

1-Keep Vigilance
The foremost principle of Krav Maga is to be aware of the surroundings and prevent as much as possible the confrontation. Krav Maga do not teach to walk blindly into the dangerous situations or call for the trouble at all.

2-Fight & Survive
Fighting for life and avoiding harm is the first principal and for this one has to fight back until the threat is neutralized no matter how much harm you have to inflict to get yourself to security.

3-Counter Attack & Defense
Krav Maga training is different from the other self-defense training. Simple self-defense training focuses on only defending from the attack. However, Krav Maga has a basic principle to defend as well as counter attack.

4-Super Force & Agility
Krav Maga certified training is based on swift reactions and activity in the real life combat situations. The agility is the key to get to the safety. The presence of mind and quick response to the threats are vital when victimized. The instinctive motions learnt from     become helpful in sudden threats.

5-Target Vulnerable Spots
Nothing is prohibited in Krav Maga when it comes to self-defense. Krav Maga allows furious counter attack to the vulnerable parts of the assailant’s body. Whether, it is gauging the eyes, biting, striking the groin with the knee or kicking the knee cap everything is allowed in getting rid of the attacker as fast as possible.

Krav Maga Techniques
Krav Maga techniques are very practical and can cause serious damage to the attacker. The Krav Maga moves include attacking vulnerable parts and inflicting extreme pain. However, the first choice is to avoid the confrontation, then prevent escalation and if the assailant does not retreat then it is the last resort to fight back with full power and neutralize the opponent. Following are the basic yet effective Krav Maga techniques.

1-Open Palm Strike
Open palm strike is an effective move to disorient the attacker for some moments. Open palm strike is hit through the bottom side of the palm. Hitting through the palm to the attacker’s jaw imbalances the assailant and provide you window to run.

2-Groin Kick
Kicking the groin with the knee or the tip of the shoe is a powerful technique to neutralize the attacker.

3- Elbow Hits
Elbow hits are efficacious in hand to hand fight. The use of elbow in the right way to hit the opponent proves advantageous in self-defense.

Thus, Krav Maga is perfect for preparing yourself for the unknown. However, it requires Krav Maga certified training to get well versed with all the techniques.
